The K-1 visa, also known as the K-1 Fiancée visa, is used by the U.S. citizens who wish to bring their Russian or Ukrainian lady to the United States for the purpose of marriage. Minor children of fiancées may accompany your lady to the United States on a K-2 dependent visa.

A non-immigrant is defined as "a person of foreign nationality seeking to enter the United States for a specific purpose." Your fiancée does not automatically obtain an extension to the 90-day time limit on her non-immigrant admission using a K-1 fiancée visa. This is why it is necessary for you and your new wife to apply for an adjustment of status after you are married and within the 90 days of her entry to the United States in a K-1 status.
